At TextNow, we always strive to keep our users a step ahead. For this, we usually update our apps and introduce exciting new features to match up the latest technology. Remember, we are the only app providing free local numbers both on WiFi and Cellular Network in the US and Canada. Here is a list of our latest features.
iOS Updates
i. Dark Mode is now Available!
One of the most anticipated and demanded features by our iPhone users was the dark mode which is now available. The mode will automatically synchronise with your system’s configuration. But, if you want either the Light or Dark mode to stay, you can directly choose it from the settings.
Go to Setting → Appearance → Choose which mode you want!
This feature was already available for the Android users.
ii. Default App for making Calls
Now you can choose TextNow on your iPhone as your default app to make the calls. Just tap on the number you want to call and it will open up the app to make the calls.
Go to iPhone Settings → Apps → Default Apps → Calling and Messaging → Select TextNow
iii. Send Voice Notes
Now you can also send voice notes in your conversations. Just tap on the conversation, look at the bottom right with a mic icon, press and hold it to record the voice notes. When you are done, release the icon and it will send the voice note automatically. On the opposite, if you want to delete or again record the voice note, tap on the x icon and delete it.
This feature was already available for the Android users.
iv. Now search Conversations Effectively
Previously, in the search bar you could only search for the names or numbers that you had contacted with. But now, there is an enhanced search bar present in every conversation that allows you to find any particular word or number that you are looking for.

i. Introducing Message Reactions
It is the era of emotions and emojis to present yourself. Textnow has also incorporated this in our conversations. Just tap a bit hard and long on the message in your conversation that you want to react to, and select the best emoticon or emoji that describes your feeling. Isn’t that simple? Thank us later 🙂
